Curriculum Revision Updates
The NJDOE frequently updates curriculum expectations, necessitating corresponding updates from districts. Amidst a significant transitional phase in our district, we are diligently engaged in the deliberate and fiscally responsible task of revising our curriculum. Our collaborative efforts within the curriculum committee demand ample time and meticulous preparation to ensure the delivery of a robust curriculum that harmonizes with NJDOE requirements, NJ Student Learning Standards, the Prospect Park school community, and ultimately serves the needs of the children in our care.
What is Curriculum?
The curriculum serves as a meticulously planned and standards-based sequence of educational experiences, designed to enable students to practice and attain proficiency in both content knowledge and applied learning skills. It stands as the central guiding document for educators, outlining what is essential for effective teaching and learning, ensuring that every student has equitable access to rigorous academic experiences. The structure, organization, and considerations within the curriculum are purposefully crafted to enhance student learning and facilitate effective instruction. A comprehensive curriculum must encompass essential goals, methods, materials, and assessments to robustly support both instruction and learning. To complement the curriculum, our district utilizes various programs and resources, including Wilson Fundations, Savvas Learning, and Reading A-Z. Additionally, digital platforms like Google Classroom play a crucial role in providing students with access to vital learning materials and facilitating communication with their teachers regarding assignments and tasks.
Where Can I Find More Information?
