National Friends of the National Aviary,

With education turning to technology to extend the classroom into student’s homes, the National Aviary is dedicated to adapting our educational offerings to meet the changing needs of our customers.

Not all learning has to be virtual! Through our Reading with Red program, kids and their families are encouraged to read books at home and keep track of what they have read on the form provided on our website. Each week we will post a video story time which will feature a book read by an education trainer in one of our habitats. When the National Aviary reopens, kids will be able to turn in their completed form to receive a special prize.

Are you a parent needing a break from playing the role of teacher? Virtual learning is taking flight at the National Aviary! Our most popular education programs are now available for both teachers and parents alike to share with their students at home. Interact with one of our educators and enhance at-home learning in an exciting virtual format. Students can discover some amazing adaptations or what makes penguins so cool -- all from their living rooms!
