Summary:

A bastion of democracy and capitalism, the Caskyan Republic is an economic powerhouse. The nation is strongly religious with the dominant faith by far being Ilumiéresm, dictating much of the country's values and policies. The Republic is a modern colonial power holding several colonies around the world to bolster its economy and global influence. Multinational corporations exercise a significant amount of power with twelve conglomerates controlling a majority of the national economy. Private control has also skyrocketed over the past three decades as well after the previous form of the government defaulted.

The nation has an exceedingly high average salary, though there is a damaging degree of wealth inequality. The top one percent of the Republic control sixty-eight percent of all privately held wealth. The top zero-point-zero-five percent of the Republic control thirty percent of the wealth. The wealth gap is paralleled by a large racial divide with seventy percent of Felonians living in poverty compared to twenty-eight percent of Caniseans.

The government, following the collapse of the previous one, is a parliamentary system. Members of parliament are elected to represent geographic districts with two elected members coming from each district: one elected by the people and one elected by the companies who employ people in said district. A popular delegate and a corporate delegate. When voting for these corporate delegates, one employee of a company counts as one vote. These members of parliament elect a Chairman by a majority with said chairman directing domestic and foreign policy.

The head of state lies with the Emperor. While the Imperial family has lost much of its governing autonomy since the former state defaulted, it still carries out many ceremonial, theocratic, and diplomatic duties. The Emperor is also the only person allowed to authorize a Declaration of War.
