Risk of Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reactions (SCARs) by Epoetins!

According to WHO, the Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee (PRAC) of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) recently completed an analysis of SCARs including Stevens-Johnson Syndrome &Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis associated with Epoetins. The MHRA advise Healthcare Professionals and Patients to permanently discontinue Recombinant Erythropoietin (r-HuEPO) if these reactions occur.
