Suspension “GRANID” has declared SUB-STANDARD!
Suspension: GRANID (Metronidazole 200mg/5ml)
Description: Pale yellow liquid in amber glass bottle with screw cap.

Manufactured by: GLITZ Pharma, Islamabad
Background: Provincial Drug Inspector collected the sample from Kot Radha Kishan, and sent it to the Punjab Drug Testing Laboratory (DTL) for testing & analysis.
Problem: Manufacturer has claimed Metronidazole 200mg/5ml. But Punjab Drug Testing Laboratory has determined Metronidazole 154.2mg/5ml (77.1%) which does not comply the stated specifications. Therefore, Punjab Drug Testing Laboratory has declared it SUB-STANDARD.
Recommendation: This product does not meet appropriate quality standards & specifications and may therefore be ineffective and potentially harmful to patients. All concerned are intimated to keep caution in procurement, dispensation, promotion and use of this medicine.
