Tablet LOPRID has been declared SUB-STANDARD!
Tablet: LOPRID (CLOPIDOGREL (as BISULPHATE) 75mg, ASPIRIN 150mg)
Description: White and brown patches (shows discoloration), ruptured film coating, core of tablet exposed having strong acidic, smell, oval, biconvex, engraved on one side with letters “EP” and score line on other side packed in ALU-ALU blister of 10 tablets.

Provincial Drug Inspector collected the sample from Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology, Wazirabad, and sent it to the Punjab Drug Testing Laboratory (DTL) for testing. Manufacturer has claimed that 150mg Aspirin is for per tablet. But the DTL has determined that 116.7mg/tablet (77.8%) Aspirin which does not comply, the stated limit of Aspirin is 90-110%. Therefore, DTL has been declared it SUB-STANDARD that do not meet appropriate quality standards and specifications and may therefore be ineffective and potentially harmful to patients. All concerned are intimated to keep caution in procurement, dispensation, promotion and use of this medicine.
