MENSTROL Syrup Suspected to contain Ingredient “Ferrous Sulphate”.

Description: Brown coloured liquid, in plastic bottle packed in a carton.

Mfg Date: July, 2017; Exp. Date: June, 2020
Manufactured by: Saadat Herbal Laboratories (Pvt.) Ltd. 85-Mehrban Colony, Multan.
Background: Provincial Drug Inspector collected the sample from Muhmtazabad Town, Multan and sent it to Punjab Drug Testing Laboratory (DTL) for testing and analysis.
Problem: DTL found Ingredient “Ferrous Sulphate” in this preparation. Ferrous Sulphate may have severe adverse effect in specific population. Therefore, DTL has declared it SUB-STANDARD!
Recommendation: This product does not meet appropriate quality standards and specifications and may therefore, be ineffective and potentially harmful to patients. All concerned are intimated to keep caution in procurement, dispensation, promotion and use of this pharmaceutical product.
