Attention (ALERT)!

Provincial Drug Control Unit (PDCU) received a case report of mouth sores related to oral azithromycin. The drug has a long half-life and can cause mouth ulceration, especially in augmenting medical conditions or presence of other drugs that can cause mouth sores. Recommended adult dose of oral azithromycin in Pneumonia is 500mg once daily.
