Drug interaction IV Ceftriaxone-Calcium Gluconate!

According to US-FDA Ceftriaxone-Calcium are dangerous combinations that can increase the risk of lethal precipitates forming in the lungs and kidneys. Do not use any Calcium solutions in combination with IV Ceftriaxone. If same IV line is used, separate use by at least 48 hours and flush IV line first. Cases of fatal reactions in neonates have been reported. Healthcare providers can help prevent this interaction by taking a few simple precautions. Oral calcium may be administered.
