Biotin (Vitamin B7) Supplements Can Cause Incorrect Lab Test Results!

According to US-FDA high levels of biotin may interfere with lab tests, because biotin technology is used in many assays to detect and measure protein level. Biotin in patient samples can cause falsely high/low results, depending on the test. US-FDA has reported one death related to biotin interference with lab tests. Healthcare Professionals are encouraged to report any reaction regarding Biotin-Lab Test Interference to PDCU.
