Patients with Cow’s Milk Allergy Should Not Use Methylprednisolone Injectable Medicine that Contain Lactose (Solu-Medrol 40mg)

Methylprednisolone has a wid­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­e variety of indications including allergic states, dermatological disease, and gastrointestinal diseases. Solu-Medrol 40mg may contain little amount of milk proteins. Do not use injectable methylprednisolone medicines that contain lactose. According to Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency-UK serious allergic reactions have been reported in patients allergic to cows’ milk proteins. Most children outgrow their allergy in early childhood and only a small proportion of patients remain allergic in adulthood. If a patient’s symptoms worsen or any new allergic symptoms occur, stop administration of the product and treat the patient’s condition accordingly.
