SONA PLUS AMSAKI AMBER WALA Capsule Suspected by Allopathic Ingredient “Sildenafil Citrate”.
Capsule: SONA PLUS AMSAKI AMBER WALA
Description: Green colour hard gelatin capsules containing brownish grey powder packed in reddish yellow box.

Manufactured by: Al-Saudia Tibbi Foundation Registered Karachi.
Background: Provincial Drug Inspector collected the sample from Bahawalpur city and sent it to the Punjab Drugs Testing Laboratory (DTL) for testing and analysis.
Problem: The DTL after testing found Allopathic Ingredient “Sildenafil Citrate” in this preparation. Sildenafil Citrate is a Vasodilator and may have severe adverse effect in specific population. Therefore, the DTL Punjab has declared it SUB-STANDARD.
Recommendation: This product does not meet appropriate quality standards and specifications and may therefore, be ineffective and potentially harmful to patients. All concerned are intimated to keep caution in procurement, dispensation, promotion and use of this pharmaceutical product.
