Injection/Infusion Heparin Associated Hematuria Received Multiple Reports!
Provincial Drug Control Unit Punjab has received multiple reports of Hematuria associated with Heparin. Drug is known to cause hematuria. Heparin associated hematuria can be prevented if rate of administration is monitored and controlled, other risk factors excluded. Activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) should be monitored in such cases. All Healthcare Professionals are requested to follow the link (https://bit.ly/2v7de49) for administration guideline.
