Problem: Manufacturer has claimed Meropenem 500mg/vial (90-120%), but DTL has determined Meropenem with varying range as 89.0%, 88.0%, 89.8%, 90.1%, 81.8%. Four out of five samples were out of specs for assay limit. Therefore, DTL has declared it SUB-STANDARD.
Recommendation: This product does not meet appropriate quality standards and specifications. This product may fail to produce desired therapeutic effects. All concerned are intimated to keep avoid in procurement, dispensation, promotion, sale and use of this batch of pharmaceutical product.
