If you would like to join in all the theatre fun, without the stress of auditioning, please select "Acting I" on your school's course selection sheet. We would love to have you join the Troupe 4992 Theatre family whether you're an incoming freshmen or current OH student!
If you are an incoming or returning Olympic Heights student and would like to be involved in our upcoming performances for the 2026-2027 season, you must audition to be placed in the proper courses.

If you are auditioning with both a song and a monologue, you may perform them consecutively in one video beginning with the monologue. Please include the proper slate prior to your performance.
Audition Date: All videos must be submitted via email to Mrs. Coyle so please email her to be considered for the upcoming 2026-2027 Season.
Monologue Solo Auditions for Incoming Freshmen & New Recruits: Video Submissions
Audition Slate
1. Enter the theatre/room and give Mrs. Coyle your critique sheet.
2. Stand on the “X” found in the center of the room.

“Good afternoon, my name is ___________ and I will be performing a monologue from the play ________ by ________________. Thank you.”
Musical Theatre Slate:
“Good afternoon, my name is ___________ and I will be performing a solo from the musical ________, music & lyrics by ________________. Thank you.”
Advanced Acting & Musical Theatre Slate:
“Good afternoon, my name is ___________ and I will be performing a monologue from the play ________ by ________________ and a solo from the musical _______________, music and lyrics by_____________. Thank you.”
4. When performing, perform your monologue first then take a breath and perform your song. Once your song is finished say “Thank you.” If you need a chair you will find one located stage left.
Mrs. Coyle may ask you some questions, she might not. Be prepared and be yourself.
You may ask the stage manager for a sound check at the start of your performance.
Attire: Applicants should dress comfortably and tastefully in clothing that does not inhibit or restrict free movement. Clothing should completely cover the thighs, mid-section, back and chest when moving. Shoes should allow for safe, grounded and comfortable movement. No hanging jewelry or costumes. Character shoes are encouraged, but not required for the audition process.
Acting Track:
Performance audition material must be memorized, suitable to the applicant’s age, gender-identification and experience and should demonstrate range, versatility and truthfulness as a performer.
1. Applicant will verbally present one (1) dramatic monologue from a published play written in the last 100 years should be one minute in length complete with memorization and blocking.
Evaluation of the monologue will be based on:
- Energy & emotional investment
- Focus, concentration & control
- Clarity of storytelling (sense of imagination, discovery, communicating the meaning of the words)
- Specific & appropriate character choices (physical gesture, style of piece)
- Honest & truthful behavior in performance
- Vocal quality (volume, diction, breath support, inflection)
Musical Theatre Track
1. Applicant will present one (1) comedic solo musical theatre song (legit & contemporary) complete with memorization and appropriate choreography.
Evaluation of the songs will be based on:
- Energy & emotional investment
- Focus, concentration, control
- Clarity of storytelling (sense of imagination, discovery, communicating the meaning of the words)
- Specific & appropriate character choices (physical gesture, style of piece)
- Honest & truthful behavior in performance
- Vocal quality (pitch, intonation, rhythm, volume, diction, breath support)
Monologue Solo Auditions for Current Olympic Heights 9th-11th Theatre Students: In Class with Mrs. Coyle.
In person Choreography, Monologue, and Solo auditions are open.
Course Enrollment
In May, Olympic Heights Theatre will announce course enrollment and callback information. At this time, the student will find out which course(s) they have been admitted into via email. If admitted into Theatre I/II/III/IV, Musical Theatre I/II/III, or Acting IV, the student will also learn what role they have been called back for as well as the material that needs to be prepared for said role.
