I know teaching your own children is hard. I know there are a few of my students who do not enjoy math time IF it involves practicing a skill the have not yet developed a solid understanding of like subtracting WITH REGROUPING!
The two worksheets below are worksheets we have done together in class so your child should recognize them and say "I've already done this!" and my recommended response? "Great! Miss McHugh said you already did this but she needs you to do it again." Blame me- It's OK, I have strong shoulders.
Please do not pressure your child to complete the regrouping papers. If they want to, GREAT! But if they start to resist/get confused/start "hating math"- drop it down a notch and do subtraction without regrouping.....I'd rather we work together to reduce the amount of potential regression in areas they presently show strengths in than inadvertently guiding them to strengthen their disdain of regrouping.
Thank you, as always, for working together in the best interest of your child.
Kindly,
Tammy
