Environment Management Framework
Though project interventions are expected to result in overall environmental and public health improvements in the state, potential adverse environmental impacts can occur if the schemes are not properly designed, sited, implemented, and maintained.
In order to ensure that the environmental issues are systematically identified and addressed in the various stages of the implementation of project-sponsored schemes, an Environment Management Framework (EMF) has been developed for this project. The specific objectives of the EMF are:
Classification of schemes:
Based on the Environmental Data Sheet which is used as a tool for screening, the schemes are classified as Category I (low impact), Category II (medium impact) and Category III (high impact).
