Course Description
This course will be an introductory course in Chemistry. You will learn about matter and how it changes from a Biblical perspective. You will need to work hard in this course, but you will learn so much from it.
Each week you will work through a module. For each module you will need to: 1) read the chapter, 2) answer the ON YOUR OWN questions, 3) answer the REVIEW questions, 4) answer the PRACTICE PROBLEMS, and 5) write the test for the module. There will be 3 review tests throughout the course. Two laboratory reports will be written up in full and handed in. There will also be a project that will need to be presented during the final class.
The in-person class time will be used to perform the labs and learn how to use your lab notebooks to record your findings. We will also use this time to review the work you did at home during the week and to introduce material for the next module. The online class time will be used to introduce and teach the material in the module.
The grading will be weighed as follows:
Module tests - 45%
Review tests - 20%
Lab reports - 20%
Project with presentation - 15%
The teacher will grade the lab reports and project. Module tests and review tests can be marked by the teacher at an additional cost ($25).
