It's time to put the garden to sleep!
Monadnock Region food retail outlets, farms, community organizations, and state initiatives work to make local food more affordable to all citizens. There are many ways for families to boost their buying power to get the freshest food onto the dinner table.
Double Up Food Bucks offers 50% off fruits & vegetables (with SNAP benefits)
Granite State Market Match doubles fruit & vegetable purchases (with SNAP benefits) at farmers markets, stands & stores
Monadnock Farm Share provides Community Supportive Agriculture (CSA) shares for 1/2 price
Community Garden Connections brings people together to grow food for distribution to others
A SNAP/ EBT card, much like a debit card, is what someone utilizing SNAP (Food Stamps) uses to purchase food at the grocery store and at some farmer’s markets and farm stands. Recently, the State of NH made even more people eligible! You will never be taking benefits from someone else if you are eligible. If you have doubts about applying for Food Stamps, check out the beliefs and facts below. (Table provided by the NH Food Bank).
