Volunteer Opportunities
The Ehrhardt Elementary PTO is dedicated to creating memories and enriching the childhoods of our students. As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to participate in the making of these memories and experiences. There are countless ways to help, big and small. You can make an occasional donation or volunteer to help at any of our activities.
PTO Sponsored Activities give each parent the opportunity to participate in ongoing campus activities that support our students in different ways. These are some of the ways parents and supporters can volunteer. Some activities are for a single event and others take place throughout the year. In most cases, volunteers may participate as much or as little as they choose.
o Room Parents and Classroom Parties
Parent(s) can support their child’s class by volunteering as room parent. The room parent’s main activity is to help organize the Holiday and End of Year Party for the class’s students. The room parent may also help teachers refresh supplies and handle other tasks as needed by the teacher.
o Spirit Nights
Spirit Nights are the main way you can help support the school and the PTO. Each month the PTO invites members of our school and surrounding community to join us for dinner at a local business. The local business shares its profits with the PTO which will be used to fund activities throughout the school.
o Teacher Appreciation
Our teachers and staff work hard, and we work hard to support them. Each month the PTO provides an on-campus luncheon as a teacher appreciation activity. The PTO may ask for donations of time for setup and cleanup or specific food items.
o Helping Hands
We use our “Helping Hands” to cut down on the workload of our teachers. There are specially labeled crates throughout the school with the Helping Hands Symbol. Teachers may place tasks they need help with like, cutting, organizing, taping or pasting papers and a Helping Hands Volunteer completes this task for the teacher and places it back in the bin.
o Goodies with Grown Ups
Each year the PTO promotes the importance of the relationship between a child and the persons that care about them. Look out for Goodies with Grown Ups to share a special breakfast treat with our Ehrhardt Families.
o Turkey Trot
The Turkey Trot is our annual fundraiser. It is an action-packed fall activity where the students get to promote their school through physical activity. Each student can participate by meeting or exceeding their personal running goals.
o Nest Fest
The Nest Fest is Ehrhardt’s own fun-filled festival held on campus grounds. Families are welcome to share in the excitement.
For the safety of our students, all volunteers are required to register through the district.
