All about Mr. Serna

So, you'd like to know about Mr. Serna? Well, you've come to the right place!

My name is Alex Jesus Serna (Mr. Serna to my students), and I grew up in Moorpark, CA. I went to school within the Moorpark Unified School District where I first went to Peach Hill, then Flory Elementary, Chaparral Middle School, and finished at Moorpark High School. I even graduated from Moorpark College!

I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (Go Bruins!) and majored in English Literature. I then acquired my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Northridge.

I have been teaching at Flory Academy since 2014. Every year brings new challenges, and each year a new batch of students with whom I have the privilege of working alongside during the academic year.

My wife, Mrs. Serna, and I are privileged to live in Moorpark. We had our son in June 2019 and our daughter in April 2022! We feel very blessed and lucky to have them with us to explore and have fun in this great big world we live in! We love listening to music, dancing, reading books, and watching movies like couch potatoes. One day we'll become couch salads, so keep your eyes "peeled."
