Student must independently read a book of their choice.
Student can create a project of choice: a play/skit, timeline, model (clay, LEGO, recyclable materials, etc.), board game, shoebox diorama, mobile, video, etc.
During presentation, student can share the following:
Name of the book and author.
The main problem of the story.
Your favorite part.
Writing down thoughts, ideas, and questions regarding a story can strengthen students' ability to retain information. Narrative, Opinion, and Expository writing will be our major writing projects for the year.
Native American Tribes, Historical Figures, 21st-Century Mission Project, Animal/Insect Report, University Report, Women in Space, Hollywood's Influence on the World, and more.
Reading is fundamental to accessing the world and the information that helps us navigate through it. Developing a love for reading will be a project I will undertake with each student.
Students are responsible for reading books at their Reading level, or Lexile level. Afterward, they can take a comprehension quiz at school to receive points towards their personal goal. 20 min minimum at home.
Student will work on becoming fluent in multiplication facts and division facts in order to progress into 4th Grade Math Curriculum. We will have ongoing assessments (tests) to get them proficient and ready to move forward.
