"The executive committee will lead the House Council (Student Council) with guidance from the moderator. They should have exhibited leadership abilities and commitment to service throughout their academic careers. Students must have completed at least one academic year at Jesuit to be considered. The Executive Committee will serve until the conclusion of the 2020-2021 school year.
The Executive Committee reports to the Housemasters, Dean of Houses, and the Student Council moderator. He has these responsibilities:
• Plans, implements, and leads meetings of the Student/House Council
• Works as necessary to arrange house competitions and other Jesuit events
• Sits on the Student Council and actively participates in Student Council sponsored events
• Provides motivation and leadership within the house in support of House System goals
• Attends additional events like graduation (2020), the orientation dance, etc.
The purpose of Student Council shall be:
• To provide a greater opportunity for self-government and experience in democratic practices by affording a realistic representation of the views of the student body.
• To foster in the students the ideals of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory and to inspire the highest type of school spirit.
• To provide a means of creating a better fellowship and understanding between faculty and students and among the students themselves.
• To serve as a unifying agent among the Strake Jesuit community in support of the school and its mission."
