Student Requirements for Work-Based Learning

Student Requirements for participation in the Lowndes High School Work-Based Learning Program:


*The Work-Based Learning Coordinator may make exceptions to these criteria on a per need basis.
  • 135 hours worked per block released from school
    • 1-block release = 135 hours for the semester or 7.5 hours a week for 18 weeks
    • 2-block release = 270 hours for the semester or 15 hours a week for 18 weeks
    • 3-block release = 405 hours for the semester or 22.5 hours a week for 18 weeks
  • Must purchase 2 tickets to Employer Banquet (April 30)
    • One ticket for the student
    • One ticket for the Mentor
  • Must have appropriate CTAE courses for job placement
  • No severe or consistent discipline issues
  • On track to graduate
  • 16 years or older
  • Reliable transportation
  • Parent Consent
  • Attendance will be considered in the application process and may influence your acceptance into the Work-Based learning program.
  • ISS, OSS, or other disciplinary actions will be considered in the application process and may influence your acceptance into the Work-Based learning program.
