On Thursday December 8, 2022 I documented what I ate in a day. Currently in class, we are talking about the ethical reasoning in what we eat and our choices. Personally, I can't really incorporate any ethical food choices into my diet because I have so many health issues and allergies as well. I am Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Soy Free, Nut Free, Caffeine Free Egg free and mostly Sugar Free. And I am allergic to all fruits and veggies, all nuts, all seafood, and legumes. Basically i can only eat Chicken,Pork, Beef and starches, like potatoes and rice. So I don't have many choices in what I eat.

For the first meal of the day, I ate 2 hash browns, which are shredded potatoes that are fried in oil. I had the hash browns with ketchup which is a very acidic tomato paste. I also had a glass or seltzer water which is just carbonated flavored water.
For the second meal of the day, I had rice with soy sauce and sweat chili sauce. Soy sauce is made of soaked soy beans. and sweet chili sauce is made of red chili peppers, rice wine vinegar, garlic and some sort of a sweetener like honey or refined sugar. I also had a chicken breast and potatoes. With the potatoes, I had ketchup is a very acidic tomato paste. And to wash it all down, i had a glass or seltzer water which is just carbonated flavored water.
For my third meal of the day, I had a baked potato with the fake butter, Margarine. To compliment the baked potato, i had a few pieces of pub steak. To cleanse the pallet, i had a glass or seltzer water which is just carbonated flavored water.
At the end of the day i was able to reflect on my first APES blog post. It was defiantly interesting to see what i ate in a day! From a personal stand point, my mom and doctors have been wanting me to keep a food journal for my health reasons but i always forget. this project helped me realized that it is so sad and disgusting what i eat in a day. It is sad to see how un healthy i have to eat. I showed my friend my blog post so far and they said "Matt why is it so bland?" and i had to agree with him because it is so bland and not edible diverse. As a person who eats food from all over the planet, i am anthropocentric when it comes to what i eat. I do not think about where my food is coming from. I also don't think on how my plate has some what "ruined" ecosystems, environments, animals, or the earth. My choices and thought process with food is always different at home. Specifically, in the summer we have our own garden so we never buy fresh produce in the summer. Other than the peaches, cantaloupes and tomatoes when we are home in Virginia and North Carolina. My mom usually buys orgnicatlly or locally grown food, like produce and meats. At home, i defiantly eat better foods and more environmentally friendly but at school i defiantly do not eat healthy or environmentally friendly either.
