Our APES class went bird-watching by the swinging bridge and around campus. We also built the birdhouses in the wood shop. On the 19th, we finished the natural history of the bird and talked about overall plans in class. On the 17th, we went bird watching and built the birdhouses. On the 15th, we went bird-watching again. The weather has been pretty nice, staying in the 50s and 60s with a little bit of wind.

So far, we've done a lot of bird watching and building nesting boxes in the woodshop in teams of two. Another project we have almost finished is the bird's natural history. We finished the project but still need Spencer to laser-cut the design into the signs. We have also been to Peabody's porch because Allen has bird feeders, and we've seen some new Birds there—stuff like the hairy woodpecker, the blue jay, the chestnut-sided warbler, and others.

So far, our class has made a lot of progress and has learned a lot. As an individual, I've gained a new skill as I know nothing about birds or bird watching. I know so little, in fact, that I do not know the name of any of the birds that I see at home. So far, I've enjoyed this project a lot, and it's fun to be able to identify birds outside your window. One time at the dining hall, I saw a turkey vulture flying through the sky when I was eating.
