This list includes common words with identical spelling, but different vocalization (homographs), non-Arabic words (mostly scientific terms), and some other frequently used words. Additions to this list are welcome.

HW = Hans Wehr (see citation under "Romanization")

LC = stated preference

usage = predominant form 'found' OCLC, when no established form is available in HW or Munjid, or when LC's form contradicts these sources
