Welcome to our dedicated AI hub. As a Google for Education Reference School, we don’t just use technology; we pioneer it. Our tool of choice is Google Gemini, integrated into our Google Workspace to help us work smarter, reduce workload and spend more time doing what matters most: teaching and inspiring our pupils.

Our Philosophy: "Human-First AI"

At The Prince of Wales School, we believe AI is a powerful co-pilot, not a replacement.

Our goal is to use Gemini to:

Reduce Administrative Burden: Automating the "heavy lifting" of paperwork.
Enhance Creativity: Using AI as a sounding board for lesson hooks and displays.
Personalise Learning: Quickly adapting resources for our diverse range of learners, including our specialist provision.

How We Use Gemini (Real Examples)

You’ve likely seen Gemini in action across the school.

Here is how it is currently supporting our staff:

Lesson Planning - Generating creative "hooks" for Year 2 Topic work or drafting differentiated success criteria.

Communication - Drafting parent newsletters or refining emails to be more concise and supportive.

SEND Support - Simplifying complex texts for pupils with EAL or creating visual prompts for our resource base.

Data & Admin - Summarising long meeting notes or suggesting formulas for Google Sheets trackers.

Safety and Ethics (The "Golden Rules")

As we lead the way, we must do so responsibly.

Always remember:

'Human in the Loop': Never "copy and paste" without checking. AI can "hallucinate" (make things up). You are the expert; Gemini is the assistant.
The "Reference School" Standard: We model best practices. If you find a great prompt or a new way to use Gemini, share it with staff.

Getting Started & CPD

Not sure where to begin? Try these "Starter Prompts" in Gemini today:

For Planning: "I am teaching Year 2 about the Great Fire of London. Can you suggest 5 multisensory lesson activities that would engage a diverse class?"

For Marking: "Here is a lesson objective: [Insert]. Can you write three different levels of success criteria for a Year 4 writing task?"

For Admin: "Draft a polite reminder email to parents about bringing in forest school kits this Thursday."
