Impact:
At The Prince of Wales School, we ensure that our children's learning experiences are revisited and demonstrated through deeply engaging play. We cultivate confident, competent lifelong learners and good citizens.
Transition between Pre-School, Reception, and beyond is seamless for our children, facilitated by effective communication and collaboration. This ensures that learners leave the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with a solid foundation upon which to build their future learning.
Children in Early Years at The Prince of Wales experience many opportunities for collaborative play and shared experiences including an extensive transition from Preschool to Reception.
In Reception we celebrate the culmination of the Early Years Foundation Stage by supporting our pupils to become resilient, resourceful, reflective and respectful learners, this is demonstrated by our passion to ensure that children achieve Good Learning Development across the Early Years Foundation.
By the end of each stage we provide opportunities for children to increase their independence. In Reception this includes developing their recording skills to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities and ensure they are well prepared for the transition to Year One. We work closely with our colleagues in Year One to ensure that the curriculum in Year One reflects the independent skills children have gained in Reception.
