YEAR TWO - POWER MATHS -

In Year Two, we use the DfE (Department for Education) recommended programme Power Maths.

Power Maths is a whole-class mastery programme designed to spark curiosity and excitement and help us nurture confidence in maths.

Power Maths is the only mastery programme created in partnership with White Rose. Power Maths, it’s written specifically for UK classrooms by leading mastery experts, and comes recommended by the DfE.

Power Maths KS1 and KS2 are recommended by the DfE, having met the NCETM’s criteria for high-quality textbooks, and have been judged as..

“fully delivering a mastery approach”

The Power Maths curriculum covers all aspects of the 2014 National Curriculum.

MASTERING NUMBER AT RECEPTION AND KS1 -

We are part of the DfE Funded 'Mastering Number' programme led by the NCETM (National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathmatics). This programme aims to secure firm foundations in the development of good number sense for all children from Reception through to Year 1 and Year 2. The aim over time is that children will leave KS1 with fluency in calculation and a confidence and flexibility with number.

Attention is given to key knowledge and understanding needed in Reception classes, and progression through KS1 to support success in the future.
