Alonna Berry for Delaware RD 20

Alonna Berry is a dedicated public servant, nonprofit leader, and longtime advocate for equity, justice, and opportunity in Delaware. She served in the Office of Governor John Carney as Director of Community and Family Services and as Senior Policy Advisor for Health, Equity, and Education. Alonna was also appointed Delaware’s first Statewide Trauma-Informed Care Coordinator, leading cross-agency efforts to build more compassionate systems of support for children and families.

Currently, Alonna serves as Executive Director of the Delaware Center for Justice, where she leads statewide efforts to advance criminal justice reform and strengthen community-based solutions. She is the founder of the Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence—a service-learning charter school rooted in educational equity—and serves on multiple nonprofit boards and statewide councils. Her work is driven by a deep belief in government that serves people with integrity and care.

A proud resident of Sussex County, Alonna lives in District 20 with her husband and their two sons. She is a doctoral candidate at Wilmington University and holds degrees from Syracuse University, Wilmington University, and the University of Pennsylvania. Alonna serves as President of the Syracuse University Alumni Association Board and is a member of the University’s Board of Trustees. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
