Jr. High Concert Band
The Washington Jr. High Concert Band is designed primarily for 7th and 8th grade band members. Students will work on developing their playing techniques on their primary instruments. The class will work on all facets of instrumental music during class. They perform annually at the PMEA Band Adjudication Festivals, the Music in the Parks Festival at Kennywood, and also participate in the school's Winter and Spring Concerts.
Steel Drum Band
The Washington High School Steel Drum Band is one of the premiere ensembles of the band program. Over the years, the group has traveled to events throughout Pennsylvania, New York, Chicago, Maryland, California, and has even toured in Europe! They have recorded a number of live performances on CDs and cassettes, including summer shows at the Chautauqua Music Institution in Chautauqua, New York. The Wash High Steel Drum Band has become a great sense of pride in the district and community.
Jazz Ensemble
Washington High Jazz Ensemble is the study of music theory, appreciation and performance style of the Jazz Idiom. The band performs at the school's Winter and Spring Concerts, local community events, and Jazz Festivals.
Symphonic Band
The Washington High Symphonic Band is designed primarily for all band members. Students will work on developing their playing techniques on their primary instruments. The class will work on all facets of instrumental music during class. They perform annually at PMEA Band Adjudication Festivals, bi-yearly at music competitions at events in New York, Virginia, and Florida, and in the school's Winter and Spring Concerts.
"Prexies" Marching Band
The Washington High "Prexies" Marching Band involves all members of the instrumental music program. The band performs at all home and away football games, parades, local marching band festivals, and other community events.
