Breaking News!

Oklahoma Prevention Needs Assessment (OPNA) Becomes Law!

The OPNA is biennial school-based survey offered to 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th graders and is used to check the pulse of substance abuse, mental and behavioral health of Oklahoma youth. Rep. Mark Vancuren, R-Owasso, is the author of House Bill 1103, which shall require OPNA participation, beginning with school year 2022-23. State wide OPNA administration will ensure that schools received reliable data on school climate, risks and protective factors experienced by students and provide the information districts need to apply for grant funding. This new policy change will ensure prevention program planning efforts continue to make positive impacts on Oklahoma's future leaders.
