Hello Abia Judd Families,
Happy Last Week of School! We had a great field day today!
Our last day of school is Thursday, May 22nd. Dismissal will be at 11:20 AM that day. Report cards will go home on Thursday with students.
The office will be open on Friday, May 23rd. After that it will be closed until July. Please make sure you stop by to check out our lost and found. All items will be donated this weekend!
I can't believe our time together is coming to an end. As this school year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible support you’ve shown me over the past three years. It has truly been an honor to be part of your student’s journey and to share in their growth and achievements.
When the news came out that I would not be returning next year, your kind and encouraging words meant the world to me. Your support has lifted my spirits and reminded me of the strong community we have built together.
Please know that even though I won’t be your principal next year, I am still your student’s biggest cheerleader. I believe in every one of them and will continue to celebrate their successes from afar.
Thank you again for your trust, kindness, and encouragement. Wishing you all a joyful and restful summer ahead!

For the 4th year in a row, our school was selected as a Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase Schools! This award recognizes and celebrates schools producing exemplary outcomes using the Capturing Kids' Hearts Process. Award winners demonstrate a high level of performance and a positive culture and climate for learning. CKH is proud to recognize the outstanding educators who have dedicated themselves to making a difference in children's lives. We are one of 867 schools across the United States to receive this award!
Our monthly Capturing Kids Hearts (CKH) focus for May is Integrity. We will be discussing the meaning of integrity and ways to be honest and upright. Learn more in our parent newsletters:
Integrity is the ability and willingness to live with honesty and excellence. People who act with integrity make a choice to do the right thing, no matter who is watching. Integrity is the foundation on which we build relationships and trust.
Integrity generates trust. When we are honest and follow through on promises, we gain the confidence of our team; Trust allows us to collaborate and achieve more together.
Integrity encourages self-assessment. Integrity requires our regular self-assessment to align behaviors with our goals and self-beliefs.
Integrity is essential in leadership. Great leaders decrease anxiety and build strong teams when they are honest, consistent, and responsible.
Acknowledge and affirm acts with integrity. Publicly praise students who model acts of integrity such as honesty and honor. Encourage students to identify classmates who show integrity.
Use scenarios and role play. Challenge students with real-life scenarios and situations that allow them to reflect, discuss, and choose the best next step or action.
Create a culture of accountability. Invite students to give you feedback. Ask students to rate the class based on your Social Contract. Empower students with choice-based consequences.
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to take a moment to address parent requests regarding class placements. We understand that many of you may have specific preferences for your child's teacher(s). However, we want to emphasize that our priority is to create balanced classes that cater to the diverse needs of all our students.
When forming class lists, we take into consideration various factors, including but not limited to:
Academic abilities
Gender distribution
Students with behavioral needs or learning difficulties
High-achieving and gifted students
Friendships and students who should not be placed together
New students to our school
Given the complexities involved in creating balanced classrooms, we cannot guarantee that specific parent requests will be honored. However, we can assure you that every effort will be made to place students in a class with at least two of their friends to facilitate a smoother transition. Teachers will work with students to list 2-3 friends that they would like to be in a class with to help with this process. Additionally, we are committed to ensuring that your child will be with a great teacher next year, regardless of their class assignment.
We appreciate your confidence and support as we work to create well-balanced classes for the next school year. Thank you for your understanding.
We are excited to let you know that we will be offering a "Vaccines for Children Day" for PUSD students on Tuesday, July 29th, 2025. The Vaccines for Children Program is a federal program that allows children who are uninsured, on AHCCCS or Kidscare, or who are Native American or an Alaska Native to receive vaccines at no cost. This service is being brought to us by Dignity Health, Yavapai Regional Medical Center's Partners for Healthy Students Mobile Kids Clinic.
We know that it is difficult to take time off work as well as trying to coordinate health appointments with busy family schedules. We want to make this very easy for you and your child to get "up to date" with their vaccines!
According to the vaccine records you have furnished us, your child is in need of vaccines. For those who have completed an exemption form, we are sending this to you to let you know that this service is available and an easy way to get your child up to date at no cost.
If you want your child to receive vaccines free of charge on July 29th, please:
Call (928) 771-5123 to schedule your appointment
Bring a copy of your child’s immunizations. A parent or legal guardian must be present at the time of the appointment.
You will be given a copy of the vaccinations your child receives. Please take this to your doctor to avoid over vaccination. All vaccinations given will be registered with the Arizona State Immunization Information System.
If your child has private insurance, they do not qualify for the free vaccine program.
To have 95% of our children vaccinated in our schools is our goal! At this level, we can provide the appropriate protection and prevention, and maintain a healthy school for everyone!
The "Vaccines for Children Day" will be Tuesday, July 29th, 2025 at the Partners for Healthy Students Mobile Clinic located at the Del E. Webb Building in Prescott Valley. Please call for an appointment.
We still have a few spaces left for Jazzy Wagon sponsors during the school year! Jazzy Wagon brings staff appreciation treats around to classrooms up to twice a month. It is a great way to let our staff know how much we love them! For more information or to sign up for your business to sponsor Jazzy Wagon, email abiajuddjaguars@gmail.com
