As we work on the implementation of all our safety measures including physical distancing the in-person environment will look a little different. Students will be divided into learning cohorts of approximately 10-12 students. These cohorts will be supported by teaching teams of 2-4 teachers throughout the day. These teachers will support learning opportunities through multiple modalities and platforms that will align with the same content of the instruction and learning opportunities of those students who are home. Synchronous lessons, asynchronous lessons, small group collaboration, small group instruction, and individual conferencing and learning support will take place in person as well as through zoom. Teachers will support learning through project based learning units, small group leveled instruction, whole group direct instruction, and reading intervention both in person and through a virtual platform. Consistent and meaningful feedback will be provided by all teachers in the teaching teams to those students within their cohort. Student opportunities to participate in specials classes such as art, music, technology, language and culture and PE will be provided each day through synchronous and asynchronous lessons as well. Outdoor learning and play time will take place as much as possible and as weather permits.
This is the general schedule and will remain in this site as a resource for you to refer back to. Your teachers will be communicating weekly with you on your detailed schedule.
*please note synchronous learning refers to live lessons and asynchronous learning refers online learning that is not live
In order for families and students to effectively prepare, on Friday (or the last day of the week), teachers will post the schedule of synchronous meetings in Google Classroom. This includes any required or optional whole-group, small-group, or individual instructional meetings.
Students may schedule additional time with their instructor outside of the allotted course time as long as it does not conflict with required synchronous learning for another course.
All synchronous learning will be recorded and made available to students who may have missed class or would like to review the lesson.
