I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express my excitement about working with your child this school year . I love teaching US History and care deeply about each of my students. I believe students can grow and develop by examining the issues they will cover in this class and appreciate the struggles and triumphs of our country. The main goal of this course is to cover the time period from 1877 to present day. Over the course of this semester, i will introduce students to the global affairs, domestic affairs, civil rights, culture and economics which are the strands for US History.

The state of Ms. requires students to pass this course and the state test at the end of the semester in order for your child to graduate. Failure in either one of these mandates requires the students to repeat the course or retake the test until successfully passing it be before they are allowed to graduate. The biggest threat to your child not passing this test is being absent from class.
