This video explains what happens in our brains when we move out of the GREEN ZONE because of frustration, worry, sadness, or any other overwhelming emotion. When we understand what is going on in our brains during BIG emotions, and recognize how our body feels, we have a better chance of managing that emotion and self-regulating back to a calmer space.
When we don't listen to the clues our bodies give us (headache, red face, tight chest, tight muscles, jittery legs, etc.) then we might find ourselves in the RED ZONE. Before we can problem-solve, we need to CALM our bodies down and get the thinking part of our brain back in charge.
