These are meant for you to share with your children, but also for you to do some exploring and hopefully relaxing when you can grab a minute. Some of these sites can be "too big" for a child to navigate by themselves, but the music and material is presented for children of all ages. Have fun!
These Google sound experiments may need a little introduction or navigation help. But once your student is in, there are lots of ways to explore Sound, Music using Chrome Experiments and a variety of other experiments. Can be hours of fun!
The SFS has put together an interactive site that is fun and informative. There are many paths to explore to discover music , instruments , composers and the history of classical music. Younger students may need a little navigational help, but this site is easy an fun once you get started.
Another Interactive learning site. In 1945, the famous composer Benjamin Britten was asked by the British Ministry of Education to write a piece of music that would teach children about the instruments in the symphony orchestra. The music was to go with a movie called Instruments of the Orchestra. With or without the movie, Britten's music has become a classic. Not only is it a favorite way to learn about instruments, but it is also a great piece of music to listen to.
A wide range of topics from music demos, to education, or the effects of music on the brain. Again these are all meant for students, probably 4th grade and above, but you may find some ideas here for your own enjoyment also.
