A strong tiered system of support begins with a focus on Tier I, or universal access. Tier I supports schoolwide expectations, wellness and climate of the school community. It is culturally and linguistically responsive to our Black, Indigenous and additional students of Color as well as our multilingual students. It is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all students, including students with IEPs. Tier I includes:
Universal access to essential grade level standards,
Social skill and behavior instruction and practice,
Tier I Core Counseling Curriculum
School wide social emotional learning and restorative justice practices, and
Community and family engagement for all students.
This work is supported by individual educators, PLCs, School Climate Teams, and ILT.
