Chris Adams-Brown is a seasoned educator with an extensive background in music instruction and an unyielding passion for nurturing young musical minds. Central to Chris's educational philosophy is the unwavering belief that every student deserves access to a top-tier music education.
Starting in 2000, Chris has had the privilege of teaching music to children ranging from preschool to 12th grade. She has taught, Choir, Mariachi and General Music, and is currently the Choir and Mariachi director at both McDaniel High School and Roseway Heights Middle School.
The foundation of Chris's music education skills was laid at Portland State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance and a Masters in Education. She also received Kodály certification there.
Throughout her career, Chris has sung with Portland-area choirs including, The David York Ensemble, Consonare Chorale, and Oregon Repertory Singers. These experiences have served as inspiration for her teaching. She currently has the joy of joining several of her students to sing with Northwest Vocal Arts.
In her free time, Chris indulges in diverse hobbies, ranging from immersive video game adventures to the intricacies of knitting and crochet. The bonds of family are fortified through shared movie nights, while the tranquility of gardening brings balance and beauty to her world.
Together with her spouse, Chris is a proud parent to four remarkable children, who are carving their paths through high school and adulthood.
