Maia Learning is PPS's college and career planning resource for PPS high school students. Note, students DO NOT apply to colleges or universities on Maia Learning, but it is an important and required tool they use in the college application process. Students can use Maia for the following important steps in the college application process:
Research colleges using a filtered search or by looking up individual schools
Know college application deadlines
Learn whether teacher and counselor letters of recommendation are required
View Lincoln’s upcoming college admissions representative visits
Request/send teacher letters of recommendation
Allow counselors to send transcripts and other important documents
Important Note - Maia Learning is what allows Lincoln to send important documents to the colleges/universities on your list, such as letters of recommendation, transcripts, school profile, etc. so it is VERY IMPORTANT you complete the necessary steps in Maia Learning. To complete your Transcript Request and to request a Counselor Letter of Rec, you must also complete the steps outlined on the LHS Counseling Website: Sending Transcripts & Letters of Recommendation.
All PPS students automatically have a Maia Learning Account. Go to maialearning.com, click Log In, then click Sign in with Google. Use your PPS email to sign in.
Parents/guardians of PPS students also have viewing access to their student's Maia Learning account. Take the same steps as your student to log in, but use your email associated with your ParentVue account. If you have trouble logging in, reach out to LHS College Coordinator, Aliera Zeledon Morasch (almorasch@pps.net).

Written Instructions for Important College Process Steps
1) Log in to MaiaLearning.com: Sign in with Google and your PPS Account. You must use Maia Learning as part of the college application process at Lincoln.
2) Sync your Common App and Maia Learning: Start in Maia Learning and follow Slides 9 and 10 to sync them.
3) Waive your FERPA: FERPA protects your right to educational privacy. You must waive it for the college process so Lincoln can send letters of recommendation, transcripts, and other required documents. You can waive your FERPA in Maia Learning by going to your Profile> Settings > Release FERPA. You can also waive FERPA through the Common App. To do this, select any of your schools on the Common App site, click the FERPA tab, and follow the instructions given. Once you do it for one school, it will apply to all of them. Instructions for How to Waive FERPA in Common App can be found HERE. Once these two platforms are synced, all changes to Maia Learning need to match what is in your Common App.
4) Update your college list on your Maia Learning "Applying" tab: Follow Steps 1 and 2 on the Step-by-Step guide. After completing this step, you should see each school's deadline listed AND "transcript request" should be toggled to on/blue.
5) Requesting Teacher Letters: Check to see how many Teacher Letters of Recommendation you need. Reference Step 3 on the guide and follow the process described/shown to officially request the letters. You will do this through MaiaLearning. Doing this sooner rather than later is really helpful for teachers!
6) Requesting Counselor Letters: Check to see if you need a Counselor Letter of Recommendation for your schools. Reference Step 4 on the guide. If NONE of your schools need a letter, counselors will not write one. If ANY of your schools require a counselor letter, counselors will write one.
If you need a Counselor letter:
- Make a copy of this document and answer the questions.
- Send this form to your parents/guardians.
- Send this form to 3ish teachers who are not already writing you a letter.
As a guideline here are some “Ask By” dates:
Official Application Deadline Oct 15th - Ask by September 24th
Official Application Deadline Nov 1 - Ask by Oct. 10th
Official Application Deadline Nov 15th - Ask by Oct 24th
Official Application Deadline Dec. 1st - Ask by Nov 10th
Official Application Deadline Dec. 15th - Ask by Nov 22nd
Official Application Deadline Jan. 1st - Ask by Nov 22nd
7) EVERYONE MUST DO THIS FINAL STEP - Complete the College Application Survey
If you do not, counselors will not know when to send your documents (transcripts, letters, etc.). If you need a Counselor Letter, this survey is where you will copy and paste your answers from the document in the prior section.
We acknowledge this is A LOT. That said, we leaned more on the detailed side to help you go step-by-step. All of this information (and more!) is on the LHS Counseling Website and the LHS College Center Website.
Questions? Reach out to your school counselor or to Ms. Aliera, College Coordinator (almorasch@pps.net)
This is REQUIRED in order for your letters of recommendation, transcripts, and other documents from Lincoln to successfully send to the colleges students are applying to.
