Ms. Chandler

About Me:

Hi there, thanks so much for taking the time to visit our site and learn about us. I go by Ms. Chandler or Chandler at school. I grew up in a small, rural, working class town in the eastern Sierra Nevadas. As a first generation college student, I went to the University of California Santa Barbara for my undergraduate education, and studied abroad for a year in Bologna, Italy. After graduating from college, I moved to Australia for a year and returned to California afterwards to continue my work with underserved, diverse, and disabled students. I moved to Portland in 2020 and made the best decision of my life: becoming a school counselor. 

In my free time I enjoy dancing, yoga, swimming, cooking for friends and chosen family, gardening, cross-stitching, binging a good show or movie, being outdoors, and spending time with loved ones.  

My personal counseling philosophy: I hope to create a safe haven for students at school and help them understand that education and knowledge is power, and mental wellness is an important, life-long pursuit.
