The ESL Department is excited to launch our webcast specifically for our EB families, ESL Chat time. Our team of ESL Community agents will be broadcasting live, linguistically and culturally responsive video chats sessions each week, Monday-Thursday via the PPS YouTube Channel and PPS Channel 28 (on Comcast).

Hello students and parents! My name is Veronica Magallanes and I’m your ESL Director. I want to express to you that we are thinking about you and we miss you!
For the remainder of the school year, all PPS students will continue to learn through Home-based Distance Learning. Students can continue to learn using technology for virtual daily learning and will also have access to paper learning guides.
If you need a computer device, you can call one of our ESL Community Agents to help you with both filling out a computer request form and getting access to the internet.
All paper guides are available at our daily nutrition sites located at these 15 schools. The sites are open from 11-1 M-Th.
The ESL Department has created non-device learning activities for K through 8th grades that contain instructions for the activities in Arabic, English, Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese and Chinese.
Families with students in the ESL program will be getting a Postcard by mail soon! The postcard is needed to get your student’s kit.
When your postcard arrives. You can take it to one of the nutritional sites and exchange it for the ESL at Home Learning Activity Kit. These activities come with supplies.
As a reminder, our Community Agents are here to help you. They can share information, answer questions, help you with PPS forms and connect you to resources you may need. We know that these are difficult times. I know that we can work together to navigate our students' learning.
