Medication Administration to Oregon Students 9:00-10:30am
Description: Medication Administration Training is required by Oregon legislature for the administration of medication in the school setting. School personnel who have been tasked with administering medications to students are required to receive annual training that has been approved by the Oregon Department of Education (ODE).• This class is an initial training that will train staff on the proper protocol for administering medications in the school setting per ODE guidelines.• After the initial training, staff may renew using an online format for the following two years, and must then attend in-person again on year 4.• Only those who have received this training may administer medications to students.• The class is 90 minutes in length from 9:00am to 10:30am.• Those who are more than 5 minutes late will not be allowed to attend and will need to reschedule.• MESD trainings are intended for those 18 years of age or older. Workshop Learning Objectives: Become trained to administer medications to students.
