Happy Spring, Alliance High School at Meek Community!
I can’t believe we are in the last term of the school year! This is an exciting time for many students as they complete their coursework to be able to graduate on June 8th at 4:30 p.m. at Providence Park. Keep up the energy and great work!
We will be using the week of May 15th to complete MAP and state testing. Students who have completed 3 credits in a CTE strand will also need to complete the TSA (Technical Skills Assessment). Students meeting this requirement will receive a graduation cord to represent their accomplishment. The MAP testing requirement helps us to identify and understand the areas where your student may need additional support in reading and/or mathematics. The state test is required by all juniors and is required; however, families may choose to opt out. The state monitors school student performance using these results as one measure.
As we bring this year to a close, I would like to express how thankful I am to have had the opportunity and pleasure of being the principal at Alliance High School! I have loved getting to know so many fabulous students while watching them learn, grow and mature into young adults! This is my last year as a principal in Portland Public Schools. I will miss my students and families.
As always, REP Alliance High School by being RESPECTFUL, ENGAGED and PRESENT in all you do.
Best wishes always,
Ms. Bonnie

Student Art Exhibit
Thanks to everyone who came to the opening of the 2023 Student Art Exhibit, and a tremendous round of applause to Ms. Volponi and the Culinary students who did such a fantastic job preparing a delicious table of treats. The work will continue to be on display in the main hallway. We hope you will stop by and peruse the pieces, and look forward to more student work next year. Below are a few works from the display.
