The maching core structures scope had a successful PDR #1 in March 2019 and PDR #2 in August 2018. That team them moved to work on the CS Casing scope, bringing the casing scope to FDR in December 2018. The team has now shifted back to this scope, in preparation for FDR

Note that the scope was origionally known as "Polar Region", as it focussed on the top and bottom of the machine. An expansion of the scope in late 2018 to include some additional components at the bottom of the device resulted in a renaming to "Machine Core Structures"

PDR #1 covered the sling supports for the inner-PF coils, including their pre-load mechanisms

PDR #2 covered flanges, double O-rings, insulators, etc
