Enrichment at Farmingdale Elementary provides students with an opportunity to engage in hands-on activities that spark curiosity. Each challenge during Enrichment will focus on 4 C's: Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Creativity. Teamwork is an essential component of our STEM program as students learn how to work with others to achieve a common goal.

Our lessons are full of fun learning experiences that get the students designing, creating, and inventing. Failure is expected and embraced as students learn to problem solve. STEM is all about trying and learning and trying again.

In our MakerSpace we use LEGO Bricks, Dash & Dot Robots, Micro:Bits, Blue-Bot Robots, Keva Planks, Code and Go Mice, Makedo, 3 Dux:Design, Makey-Makey, Osmo, Bloxels, Little Bits, and more to make learning fun. Our program meets common core and NGSS standards and brings STEM concepts to life. We have so much fun that the students don't even realize they're learning science, technology, engineering, math, art and literacy concepts.

From Robotics to Engineering, there's something for everyone. Young kids are meant to learn through play and the Enrichment room is where this happens! Shhh...don't tell them they are learning.

I'm honored to learn alongside your child this year in the Enrichment room. Visit our site each month for learning updates and photos.
