Internships & Professional Development

Westview broadcast journalism students have the opportunity to apply to the Student Reporting Labs Academy. This program gives students the opportunity to work with broadcast journalism professionals to produce original journalism pieces during a weeklong fellowship in Washington DC.

Advanced Broadcast Journalism students also have the opportunity to participate in the Studio 701 digital media internship. The interns are chosen through an application and interview process every Spring. During the school year, they are tasked with producing a monthly video series called "Excellence in Education," highlighting interesting and innovative programs and partnerships at Poway Unified School District schools.
