Meet Mrs. Finn

Hello everyone,

My name is Brianne Finn and I am the school counselor at Painted Rock Elementary. I am beyond thrilled to be supporting our community for my third year.

I grew up in the Bay Area and have lived in San Diego for four years. I attended California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo where I received my Bachelors in Liberal Studies, Minor in Child Development, and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I was an elementary teacher for six years in both San Luis Obispo and abroad at an international school in Bangkok, Thailand. I then attended the University of San Diego where I received my Masters in School Counseling and Pupil Personnel Services Credential.

When I am not at school I enjoy lifting weights, hiking, camping, traveling, reading, and spending time with my friends, family, and two dogs.

I pride myself in creating warm and supportive relationships with everyone in our community. As the school counselor, my mission is to help the entire Painted Rock community thrive through supporting students, teachers, and families.

Mission and Vision of PUSD Elementary Counseling

Mission

The mission of Poway Unified School District’s Elementary School Counseling program is to provide comprehensive services that support the academic, career, and social-emotional development of all students. Together with other educators, families, and community members we work to support our school district’s mission of college and career readiness for all students.

Vision

The vision of Poway Unified School District’s Elementary School Counseling program is for all students to feel connected, safe, and included at school. As a result of the school counseling program, students will feel significant, with a sense of purpose and belonging. School counselors will foster these student mindsets by teaching empathy, skills for learning, emotion management, and problem solving skills. Every student will acquire the necessary habits of mind and the behaviors and attitudes essential for their future success as healthy, responsible, competent, and productive citizens.
