"My body of work is a reflection of what I feel it is like to dream. Dreams and the unconscious mind have always fascinated me and I attempted to reflect them in my artwork by incorporating a vast array of color, shapes, and textures. I've incorporated many aspects of my own dreams within these pieces, such as drawing the faces of the people who I have met within my dreams."

"In my sustained investigation I wanted to look into the ideas of how people interact with one another as well as how we interact with the world around us. I tried to communicate my idea by portraying groups of people in different settings and experimented with colors to convey emotions. I mostly used watercolor and occasionally worked with different media such as oil pastel to see how the changes altered my work."

"This year, I focused on trying to use many different mediums, such as watercolor, pen, and oil pastel. The idea for my sustained investigation was how different traumatic experiences affect the way a person lives for the rest of their life. I also included my portrait of a boy from Cameroon I did for the Memory Project. "

"I chose to paint pictures of nature because being in nature makes me feel peaceful."

"I chose to draw pictures of flowers because I like flowers and they are colorful and pretty. I also like to draw in the Cubist style because I can show flowers in a different way."

"I like to use my work as an outlet for my own mind. My goal is for my work to a be a place like that for those who view it. I want to create meaningful places for people to experience feelings and emotions. Art should be a safe space and it is my goal to emphasize that. "
